The Heilbrunn Timeline offers art essays, geographic chronologies, and profiles of the works of art housed throughout the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Art on the Web-  Provides links to art resources on the web, searchable by topic.

ArtCyclopedia-  A fine arts search engine, mainly searchable by the artist's name. 9,000 artists listed.

Voice of the Shuttle-  An excellent compilation of general art history resources.  Also browse art history by continent.

WWAR.com World Wide Arts Resources-  Founded by Markus Kruse, WWAR is a gateway to a wide variety of visual arts resources on the web.

The National Gallery of Art's Learning Resources Online Catalogue offers access to pdf's, podcasts and more.

Resources in Art and Architecture on the Web Karen Bouchard of Brown University has compiled resources on art and architecture.  Browse by culture, region, subject, time period, type, etc.
