The Office of Counter-Terrorism has five main functions:

Provide leadership on the General Assembly counter-terrorism mandates entrusted to the Secretary-General from across the United Nations system
Enhance coordination and coherence across the Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact entities to ensure the balanced implementation of the four pillars of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy
Strengthen the delivery of United Nations counter-terrorism capacity-building assistance to Member States
Improve visibility, advocacy and resource mobilization for United Nations counter-terrorism efforts
Ensure that due priority is given to counterterrorism across the United Nations system and that the important work on preventing violent extremism is firmly rooted in the Strategy

CfJJ was founded in 1994 by a diverse group of juvenile justice professionals who opposed regressive legislation that threatened the key principles of the juvenile justice system: children should be treated differently than adults and their treatment should focus on rehabilitation.

It is our mission to build trusted relationships with youth in poverty that lead to hope and commitment to career development in the barbering profession, along the way bridging the gap between the police and the community they serve.

The Marshall Project is a nonpartisan, nonprofit news organization that seeks to create and sustain a sense of national urgency about the U.S. criminal justice system. We have an impact on the system through journalism, rendering it more fair, effective, transparent and humane.

As a means to strengthen communities’ abilities to address youth gang involvement, OJJDP launched the National Youth Gang Center NYGC in 1995. In 2003, BJA launched the NGC to provide law enforcement with specialized training for countering street gang crime. In October 2009, the NYGC merged with the NGC. This unification signified a recognition that street gang activities transcend ages of the members and that a balanced, comprehensive approach is needed to reduce gang involvement and levels of gang crime. Consolidation of the centers has leveraged resources and resulted in a single, more efficient entity, responsive to the needs of criminal and juvenile justice professionals, law enforcement, youth‐and community‐serving practitioners, researchers, and the public.

The National Policing Institute, formerly known as the National Police Foundation, was established in 1970 as a non-partisan, non-profit, research and policy organization dedicated to advancing policing through innovation and scientific research.

The SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities.
