Just like any other skill set, it takes time and practice. The more research you do, the more comfortable you'll become with searching, selecting, and evaluating information. Include this guide in your Blackboard class to get them started on their way to becoming research experts.
Research Guides (LibGuides) are web-based guides put together by librarians to provide assistance in using library materials, identifying resources for topics and courses, and much more. You can view lists of research guides and access from the Library's page or you can access the guide built for your class in Blackboard.
These guides are connected to your Blackboard classes using technology called Automagic. Automagic is just...magical! Why else would we have called it that, if it didn’t make us feel like we were living in a land full of unicorns and rainbows? We know you’ll feel the same when you click a link in a BlackBoard course and the appropriate research guide just appears without having to do any work! We currently have over 100 LibGuides (www.rccc.edu/ lrc) available, and we can always work with you to find or create guides to support your courses.
