Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) - September 15-October 15
This honors the anniversaries of independence from Spain for most of the 20 Hispanic nations in Central and South America.
September 15 - Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua (all in 1821).
September 16 - Mexico (1810)
September 18 - Chile (1810)
September 21 - Belize (1821)
Other Hispanic Heritage countries whose independence days fall outside of HHM are Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Cuba, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Brazil, Panama.
